Cookie Notice
Last modified: October 27, 2026
This Cookie Notice explains how Simple Software LLC, a Colorado limited liability company, which operates Amalgament ("Amalgament", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the amalgament.com website and any other website that we own or control and which posts or links to this Cookie Notice (collectively, the "Sites").
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies serve different purposes, like helping us understand how a site is being used, letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your browsing experience.
Our Sites may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer or mobile device until they expire or you delete them).
We use two broad categories of cookies: (1) first party cookies, served directly by us to your computer or mobile device, which we use to recognize your computer or mobile device when it revisits our Sites; and (2) third-party cookies, which are served by service providers or business partners on our Sites, and can be used by these parties to recognize your computer or mobile device when it visits other websites. Third-party cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, including site analytics, advertising, and social media features.
How our consent notice works
The first time you visit amalgament.com, a notice at the bottom of the page asks whether we may set analytics cookies. "Accept" and "Decline" are the only options, they carry the same weight, and neither is pre-selected.
- Before you choose, and if you decline: we set no analytics cookies and store no analytics identifier in your browser. Google Analytics still loads, with consent denied for analytics and advertising storage, so it sends Google page measurements without a cookie identifier. PostHog keeps its visitor identifier in the page's memory only, so it is gone when you reload or close the page. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and runs whatever you choose.
- If you accept: Google Analytics and PostHog store the identifiers listed below so that repeat visits can be recognized as the same browser.
- Changing your mind: the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page reopens the notice. If you decline after accepting, we delete the Google Analytics cookies and the PostHog entries listed below from your browser.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a decline. The notice is not shown, and if you open it from the footer it tells you analytics cookies stay off.
- Turning measurement off entirely: visiting any page of amalgament.com with
?notrackadded to the address turns measurement off for your browser. Google Analytics and PostHog do not run at all, Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded, and the setting is remembered for later visits. Visiting with?trackturns measurement back on. - Where measurement runs: Google Analytics and PostHog report only from amalgament.com, not from preview or test copies of the site.
What types of cookies and similar tracking technologies do we use on the Sites?
On the Sites, we use cookies and other tracking technologies in the following categories described in the table below.
| Type | Description | Who serves the cookies | Name, lifetime and how to control them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising | These cookies are used by advertising companies to collect information about how you use our Sites and other websites over time, to show you ads and measure them. | None. We do not use advertising cookies or pixels on the Sites. | Not applicable. |
| Analytics | These cookies help us understand how our services are performing and being used. | Google Analytics (Google, policies.google.com/privacy); PostHog (posthog.com/privacy) | Only after you accept: _ga and _ga_6MRE6YQ8QV (Google Analytics; distinguish one browser and one visit from another; Google sets them for up to two years, and some browsers shorten this to about 13 months); ph_<project key>_posthog (PostHog; an anonymous visitor identifier and the current session; one year), with a copy under the same name in local storage and session storage. Control: Decline in our notice, the footer "Cookie settings" link, Global Privacy Control, ?notrack, or your browser settings. |
| Analytics (cookieless) | Counts page views without cookies or stored identifiers. | Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel, vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy) | Sets no cookie. Control: ?notrack. |
| Essential | These cookies are necessary for the technical operation of a site. | None. The Sites do not offer sign-in, so they set no essential cookies. | Not applicable. |
| Functionality / performance | Remember your choices. | Amalgament | amalgament_consent (an entry in local storage, not a cookie, that records "granted" or "denied" once you choose, so we do not ask again); amalgament_notrack (an entry in local storage, set only if you use ?notrack). Control: clear site data in your browser. |
| Social | These cookies may allow you to log into a site through a social account or share content. | None. | We do not embed social media plugins or offer social sign-in. Links to our LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pages are plain links. |
| Third-party embed | Our booking calendar. | Cal.com (cal.com/privacy) | The calendar on our home page loads from Cal.com when you scroll near it or follow a link to it, and Cal.com may set its own cookies and run its own measurement inside the calendar, whatever you chose in our notice. Those are governed by Cal.com's privacy policy. If you prefer, email drew@amalgament.com to arrange a time instead. |
Other technologies
In addition to cookies, our Sites use browser web storage, and our emails may use pixel tags, to collect information automatically.
Browser Web Storage
We use browser web storage (local storage and session storage) for similar purposes as cookies, as listed in the table above. Browser web storage enables the storage of a larger amount of data than cookies. Your web browser may provide functionality to clear your browser web storage.
Web Beacons
Our Sites do not use web beacons from advertising companies. Emails we send may include pixel tags that tell our email provider whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.
Fonts
Our typefaces are served from amalgament.com itself. Loading them sends no request to a third party and sets no cookie.
Session-replay technologies
We do not use session replay. Session recording is turned off in PostHog.

- Google Analytics opt-out. You can prevent Google Analytics from using your information on all websites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
You will need to apply these settings on each device and browser you use.
